About

At Hunter Dance Center, we believe in training excellence from the ground up. Dedication. Passion. Hard work. Respect for yourself, your fellow dancers, your teachers, the space. Safety. Grit. Determination. Creativity. Excitement. Joy. Dance teaches us so much more than how to move our bodies. It teaches us how to be more aware of our surroundings, how to relate to other people, how to stand in a room with confidence while we are learning something new and slightly uncomfortable. It can even teach us how to fly. These are life skills – and yes these are skills that make us better dancers, too. Come dance with us.

Annie Arnoult, Director

Hunter Dance Center provides exceptional dance training from the ground up for absolute beginners to experienced professionals in our beautiful 9000 square foot home at 747 N. Shepherd in the Heights.  A love of dance and movement in all its forms is fostered by our stellar faculty of dance artists who are actively involved in the creative field. Creative classes for preschoolers; an engaging Student Program for aspiring young dancers; a rigorous Pre-Professional Program for college bound dancers; Open Classes for Teens and Adults; and a fully supported Aerial Dance Program for youth and adults can all be found inside our four state of the art studios.

Hunter Dance Center is home to the professional dance theater company Open Dance Project (opendanceproject.org) whose season of world-class dance theater performance is developed and rehearsed at Hunter. Open Dance Project company members teach throughout our levels and programs, bringing their expertise and passion to the public and training the next generation of innovative dance artists in Houston.
